The widespread obssession with nostalgia that pervades the political culture that afflicts even the Liberal movement or what's left of it. They cling to some misguided wish to return to the consensus Liberalism of the 1960's even though that time is gone and nothing will bring it back. We are living in an era of confrontation. The Right wing has become the tool of the corporate interests aligned with the religious right and the yokel mob known as the "tea party." We can no longer afford to think that it's "going to be all right." If the Rightists get their way they will turn the world we live into a miserable, ignorant, polluted and disease ridden hell hole.
So what are we going to do about it?
